subterranean tunnels, summoning long-forgotten
souls to awaken from their cold dark sleep

in dust (tantric gravel)
behind the razor wire, quarried gravel streams
down from a rusty old conveyor belt; the gravel
heap below takes on a sensuous, tactile quality

furies of consciousness (power surge)
high voltage electricity pulses through quivering
wires and humming pylons, invoking tangible
resonant vibrations

the hidden circle (games people play)
group coherence is maintained and reinforced by
the exclusion and persecution of a non-conformist
individual

ecstasy of nightmare (window of perception)
transfixed by the stochastic motion of snowflakes
in a blizzard, the spirit is free to soar and wail

simple device (super-saturated urban hypno-throb)
buses, billboards, brake lights and sirens scream
for individual attention, but gradually succumb to
their position within the wider frame of reference

nature as machine (persistence of vision)
birds slip in and out of view, replicated and
reiterated, gliding and hovering in hyper-real
formations, soaring and diving; symbols of truth
and hope arising from the murky depths of reality
